4.4 Final preparations 1

This morning, while I was at a friend's flat, I got a call from Yuji:

"Can you come down the beach? No biggie, but the rainy weather has put us back a bit. The bars open tomorrow, and the Rock4four parties begin again this weekend. Just could do with extra hands and minds."

I could hardly refuse. "I'll be there just before lunch - can I bring Natalie?"

"Sure"

"And Chi chan too?" Natalie shouts into my receiver.

"Where are you now, Des?" asks Yuji.

"Just... in Yokohama. Do you want me to come or not?"

"Of course! Bring whoever you like. Let them know there's plenty of donkey work! Meet me at the Great Buddha at twelve."

Before I could ask why, he put the phone down. Natalie then asked "Can we bring Mary?"

"No!"
